Here's a picture that I took with my Rebel XTi camera. All I can say is that it's a patch of wild flowers found somewhere on some trail in Mission Trails Regional Park, San Diego, California on 3/2/2008.
I can only appreciate the beauty of these plants up to a certain point. Without any more information about these plants, this blog becomes just a place to dump pic files.
Are the flowers growing wildly or did someone seed them there? Is this flower species found only here or is it common place? Are these one of those plants that strangely appear only after the earth's been scorched by wild fire? Is anything in the park going to munch on them? Did the indiginous people have any interest in these?
These are just a sample of questions I hope to be able to answer by taking a training course offered at the park beginning in January 2009.
While you can find all the information about nature trails, plant specimens, animals and attractions on the internet, this blog will be my personal journey into becoming a nature trail guide at Mission Trails Regional Park.
